FAQs

  • How big should my group be?

Groups can be valuable at a variety of sizes. Jesus had 12 disciples. He also had his inner circle of 3 disciples. Consider how many people you are comfortable hosting and think about setting a cap on how many people can join. But we also encourage you to be consistent with your group even if you have 3 or 4 people. Sometimes smaller groups form the deepest bonds.

  • Do I really need to set an end date?

Even if you’d like your group to continue after the current season, it’s valuable to help people know what they’re committing to. People in your group can then choose to re-up their commitment for the next season if they would like, but an end date also gives them permission to move on to a different group or take a new step in their faith.

An end date also allows you to set a new start date for your next season, so that new people will be more inclined to want to join your group.

  • How long should my group meet?

Human beings are seasonal beings. We live and operate within seasons. There is value in leading a group for 4 weeks as a “sprint” of sorts, and there is value in leading a group that lasts the equivalent of a school semester. Whatever you determine is right for your topic and focus, as well as the people in your group, make sure you approach it in seasons so that people are able to fully know what they’re committing to for that season.

  • What if I don’t know if I’m ready to lead?

It’s okay not to know! We would love to talk with you, dream with you, pray with you, and discern with you. You’re not in this alone.

  • I’ve made decisions I’m not proud of in my past. Does that disqualify me?

We believe God can use even the darkest parts of our past to help someone else in their pursuit of Christ. Let’s have a conversation and talk about God’s work in your life.
